Underwater Transport AI Prompt

LI: To generate an AI image using specific prompts on Adobe Express.

Our task was to write a prompt to AI to generate an image based of our description using Adobe Express. First we only used 5 instructions to write as our prompt. My first prompt was underwater transport, with a ice cream machine, a water slide coming out of the window,  oreos, and a chocolate fountain with strawberry’s on top. After multiple tries once we found a photo we liked, we then used B.A.R thinking key to help us build a greater prompt. B stands for bigger which means to make something bigger. A stands for add so add something onto the photo. R stands for replace or remove. I englarged the pineapple, replaced the wheels as Oreos, and added a water gun. My finally prompt was underwater double decker bus, oreos as wheels, SpongeBob themed water gun, and massive pineapple on top.

I found this task interesting because our main thing was to create a prompt using our creativy and B.A.R thinkers key.

Hauroa

LI: To understand the Maori world view of Hauroa.

We learnt about the Maori beliefs of the 4 walls of wellbeing Taha Tinana, Taha Wairua, Taha Hinengaro, and Taha Whanau. Taha Tinana is the physical well being, this is like caring about our body by maintaining a healthy body weight, fueling our bodies and many more. Taha Wairua is the spiritual wellbeing this is about your values, beliefs, religon, meaning and purpose in life. Taha Hinengaro is the mental and emotional wellbeing, this is controlling our emotions, loses, our stress and more. Lastly Taha Whanau is the social wellbeing, this is your values, self esteem, self awareness, meaning and purpose in our life.

I found this interesting because I learnt about the Maori views of Hauora, the four walls of wellbeing.

Why Sleeping is Important

LI: To explain why sleep is important.

In this task we learnt the importance of sleep and how the amount of sleep affects us. Distractions such as technology or very bright rooms can trigger the brain into thinking its still day time so it will function while you are trying to sleep. We looked at both sides of the argument seeing what will happen if we have too much sleep or less sleep. The affects of oversleeping can increase the risk of headaches, diabetes, and heart diseases. Not enough sleep can cause things like depression, anxiety, having a bad attitude and many more.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt about the importance of sleep and that we shouldn’t get too much sleep or too less.

Food Tech

For cooking this week we made sweet corn fritters topped of sour cream. First we gathered our ingrediants which was sweet corn creamy style, flour, baking powder, salt and eggs. We then whipped up the egg, and put 3/4 of flour, and 1/2 tsp of baking powder into the bowl. Next we poured the sweet corn and egg into the bowl and mixed it until it was the right consistency. We poured the batter onto the pan and let it cook until it was golden brown. Lastly we stopped it off with some sour cream.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to make Sweet Corn Fritters.

Kingi Tuheitia & Kuini Nga Wai Hono i te Po

LI: To learn and respect the passing of Kingi Tuheitia.

Our task was to create a DLO about Kingi Tuheitia’s passing and how he brought unity whilst being the Maori King. Unity means to bring people together, an example of this may be through cultural connections, or religions. An example of  when Kingi Tuheitia united people was when he brought the Maori Tangata and the Cook Islands together. Kuini Nga Wai Hono i te Po now takes the role of the new Maori Queen and to follow his father’s footsteps.

I found this interesting because I learnt who the new Maori ruler is and the passing of Kingi Tuheitia.

Netball Interschool

Our school competed in the Netball interschool and played 5 games in the tournament. Our first game was against Stonefields which we won 13 -1. Our second game was against Tamaiki Primary which was lost 8-7. Our third was against Panama Road which we won 17-1. Our fourth game was against Glen Taylor which was lost 19-8. Our last and final game was against Glen Brae which we lost 18-2.

Integers Multiplication

When doing integers with multiplication remember when a negative is times by a positive the answer will be a negative. For example, – 3 x 15 will be – 45. But if you multiply a negative number by a negative number, the answer will always be a positive. For example, – 90 x – 2, which is 180. The answer isn’t a negative because you are multiplying a negative number by a negative number. 

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to do multiplication with integers.

Duffy’s 30th Birthday

Duffy Books in Homes has been around for 30 years and still continuing to provide books to our tamariki. Alan Duff the creator of Duffy Books in Homes found that majority kids came from bookless homes so he developed a programe that started in 1994, the Alan Duff Charitable Foundation Books in Homes. We celebrated Duffy’s birthday by having cakes, decorating our Duffy Library, Mrs Anderson, Samonjit, Menadia, and Mrs Cipio shared their favourite books. Lastly special guests from Duffy Books in Homes and Mainfreight who talked about their favourite books as a child.

 

Tech | Paper Mache

Our task for tech was to create mask using the paper mache technique. For the first week we spent our time covering a balloon with paper mixed with glue with water. Once it was all dry we started painting our mask I went a horror theme. Lastly we added decorations of glitter, paint pens and buttons to complete the look.

I found this task interesting because I learnt a new way on how to make a mask.

Integers Divison

Divison integers has a similar concept and rules to multiplication integers. A negative number divided by a positive number will always be a negative number. This is because a negative number times a positive number is a negative number. For example, -32 divided by 8 equals -4. This is because -4 x 8 is -32. A positive number divided by a negative number will always have a negative outcome, because a negative number multiplied by a negative number = a positive number. For example, 32 divided by -4 is -8, because -8 x -4 = 32. A negative number divided by a negative number is a positive number, because a positive number x a negative number equals a negative number. For example, -24 divided by -3 equals 8, because 8 x -3 is -24. 

I enjoyed this task because I learnt the rules of integers with division.
