I did a task called poetry slam for the Summer Learning Journey.
First I looked at the example. I looked at Sahil’s poem about ice cream.
Next I recorded myself saying the poem.
I enjoyed this task because I read poem written by one of my good freinds. I need to improve on understanding it. I did well at reading it.
I did a task calls It’s Cool to be Kind for the Summer Learning Journey.
First I needed to make a copy of the slide deck of tips on how to write a comment in maori.

I enjoyed this task because I commented in Maori. I did well at writing the greeting. I need to improve on writing the farewell.
I learnt how to read the tempurature and see how long it takes to change from hot water to cold.
First we filled up the sink with hot water and put in our thermometer which was started at 42 degree celsius.
Then we put in some ice packs and went to check on it every 5 minutes. On the 20th minute it stop at 26 degree celsius and from there on it stayed at 26 celsius. The tempurature stayed at 26 celsius because it was the coldest the the sink tap can go.
I enjoyed this task because I learnt how long it takes to change from hot water to cold. I did well at checking on it every 5 minutes. I need to improve on finding out why the tempurature stopped at 26 celsius.
My group and I created a quiz about pianos and the material used for the piano’s white keys.
First my group and I gathered information about pianos and the material. For example: The white piano keys used to be made with ivory.
Then we wrote down some information we found out. For example: Ivory is basically rhino horns and elephant tusks. A global treaty was signed to ban ivory trading, because elephants and rhinos need to be killed in order to get their tusks and horns.
Lastly we made our quiz and put our information on the quiz. We added buttons and double checked our information.
I enjoyed this task because I learnt new facts about pianos and what it is actually made of. I did well writing down notes. I need to improve on the argument.
